Billing Process
Allen’s Family Counseling Center offers comprehensive billing and claims services for all prospective and current clients. Our billing manager is dedicated to checking/confirming your insurance eligibility, benefits, and claims management.
If you have a billing question, don't hesitate to contact our office manager (billing@afccchicago.com).
Payment Methods
At the time of booking your first appointment, we will request your email address to send you paperwork through our secure server. Part of the paperwork includes keeping a credit card on file with us. At the end of each session, we will process your card for any fees due, including session fees, co-pays, and charges for missed appointments or late cancellations. For clients using Flexible Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts (FSA/HSA), an itemized receipt will be provided after payment is received if needed. We can make special accommodations for payment if necessary - just ask us!
*There are additional fees for late cancellations or missed appointments. We cannot bill insurance under these circumstances. Specific details on these policies are provided upon request.
Insurance
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care, Cigna, and select Aetna plans.
We do accept Medicaid & Medicare Plans.
If you have another insurance provider, we are considered out-of-network and can offer a detailed treatment receipt after each session for you to submit to your insurance provider for direct reimbursement back to you.
We also offer sliding scale and private pay options.
Out-of-Network Coverage
“Out-of-network” means that clinicians and health insurance providers have not signed a contract. Many health insurance plans cover our services through out-of-network benefits for behavioral health, but the specifics of coverage vary. If you have a BCBS PPO, but BCBS is not listed on your provider’s profile page, services are considered out-of-network. Medicare does not reimburse for out-of-network services.
You are responsible for full payment on the date of your session (after the session is complete). You can then submit a claim to your insurance provider for direct reimbursement to you. You may receive no reimbursement or nearly full reimbursement depending on your plan.
